I don’t care what year it is; a girl has got to express herself. And I am the kind of girl that wouldn’t be caught dead without her fifties poodle skirt. Is it because I’m still holding out for my James Dean? Or is it because it looks so swell paired with my saddle shoes? I really can’t say. All I know is, whether I’m sipping on soda in the malt shop, bee-bopping to my Buddy Holly records, or drag-racing in Daddy’s Model-A hot rod, you can bet I’m wearing my poodle skirt.

Trends come and go but all the hepcats know when I’ve got on my cat eye glasses there isn’t a cooler chick this side of the juke box.

Hey, I can’t help it if I look sweet in a neckerchief and cardigan sweater. And good golly Miss Molly nothing beats the sound of my crinoline slip swishing from side to side as I do the Twist.

As far as I’m concerned, Marilyn can keep her diamonds, Brando can keep his Stella. Just give me my fifties poodle skirt.
